Performance test evaluation, hydrotreating unit

Independent technical review of the performance test report for a major distillate hydrotreating unit within a multi-billion-dollar refinery upgrading programme. The review audited fuel-gas heating-value calculations, challenged chemical-injection methodology, and traced guarantee figures back to raw test data.

A material composition error was identified in the contractor's energy-balance basis, and acceptance was conditioned on defined environmental-compliance gates — protecting the owner's guarantee position.

Heat exchanger modification package review

Detailed assurance review of a site modification package for a critical cooling-service shell-and-tube exchanger. The review reconciled the root-cause analysis, process datasheet and fabrication drawings line by line.

A three-way discrepancy in baffle configuration was identified across the design documents, demonstrating that no validated thermal design basis existed for the hardware being fabricated — before it reached the plant.

Force majeure technical advisory

Preparation of an arbitration-grade advisory report analysing a force majeure dispute arising from regional conflict, with claimed exposure in the nine-figure range. The report established the technical and contractual chain of causation, quantified schedule and cost consequences, and assessed the parties' positions against the contract mechanism.

Delivered a defensible, evidence-led analysis suitable for use in formal dispute resolution proceedings.
